With the growing popularity of loose leaf tea, customers are searching for a variety of tea filtering devices like mesh strainers and infusers. While most are effective, problems may arise with finer grade teas like mint or rooibos, causing leaves or leaf particles to escape into the cup or pot. The cleanup may also be time consuming, making them inconvenient for tea drinkers on the go. The German tea filter enterprise Finum invented a product to bring the convenience of a tea bag to loose leaf tea drinkers. These revolutionary filters, called Finum, combine a patented slide opening and an expanding gusset bottom. With these features the sac is easy to fill and the tea has room to properly expand.
Because of its wide bottom, the sac does not require a filter stand. With Finum consumers can control the amount of tea that goes into each sac and blend teas for a custom flavor. While steeping the flap can be folded, twisted, and/or secured with the lid of the teapot.
Material: The filter paper used for Finum is all natural and unbleached, biodegradable making it an eco-friendly product. Since the paper contains no artificial ingredients, it will not taint the flavor of the tea. Finum are disposable and completely biodegradable, and after use filled sacs can be used in compost and gardening. The fine fibers used to produce the filter paper are imported from the Philippines and Ecuador. While strong and durable, the paper is also thin and porous to allow fast brewing. Finum allow you to enjoy the fresh, natural taste of loose leaf tea without the hassle of conventional straining methods.
Size and Use: The tea filters we offer are available in size L that can be used to fill 1-2 tea spoons of loose-leaf tea perfect for 1-2 tea cups or for a pot of tea. This box contains 100 tea filters that are made in Germany. To use, simply scoop 1-2 tea spoons of Harney & Sons loose leaf tea and fill the filter bag. Each of the tea filters has a user friendly clip for the paper filter and a lid which saves the aroma and keeps the tea from getting cold.
Interesting Fact: Completely different filters are required for tea versus for coffee due to the delicate nature of the tea beverage. One square meter of tea filter paper only weighs approximately 16 grams which is considerably lighter and finer than coffee filter paper. This means that production and processing require very high technical standards that Finum have. Each patented clip which clamps the filled filter and the aroma protection holder.
